Consumer Guarantees

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The consumer guarantees

Under the Australian Consumer Law, the following guarantees apply to the goods and services we provide:

  • Acceptable quality

Goods and services must be of acceptable quality — that is, fit for their purpose, free from defects, and acceptable in appearance and finish.

  • Fit for purpose

Goods and services must be reasonably fit for any purpose you make known, or that is obvious from the service requested.

  • Matching description

Goods must match any description provided, and any sample or demonstration shown to you.

  • Due care and skill

Services must be carried out with due care and skill, and materials supplied must be fit for the purpose for which they are supplied.

  • Reasonable time

Where a time for supply is not agreed, services must be supplied within a reasonable time.

What you are entitled to

If a guarantee is breached, your remedy depends on whether the failure is major or minor:

  • Major failure — you may choose a refund or replacement, and you may also seek compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
  • Minor failure — we may offer to repair or replace the goods or re-supply the service within a reasonable time.

How to make a claim

To make a claim under a consumer guarantee, contact us with details of the product or service and the issue. We will assess the claim and respond in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law. See our Return Policy for the practical steps.
